Alan Levy has proudly called Rahway home for 25 years. He is a lawyer who earned both his undergraduate
and law degrees from Rutgers University. Alan has spent over two decades building a distinguished legal
career, securing notable victories and precedential decisions in New Jersey and New York courts. He is a
recognized author, speaker, and advocate for civil liberties, Alan has published more than two dozen articles
in respected publications and has long fought to protect free speech and constitutional rights.
Now, Alan is bringing that same commitment to public service. After watching City Hall cut funding to the
Public Library while expanding high-paying political jobs, increasing debt, and making Rahway less affordable
for working families, he decided it was time to step up and fight for change. For 25 years, the Rahway Democratic
Committee has maintained unanimous one-party control of the government, driving out Republicans, unaffiliated
voters, as well as any Democrats who refuse to be part of the "political machine.""
As a Candidate for Rahway's City Council, Alan believes Rahway deserves new ideas, greater accountability, and
leadership focused on residents: not political insiders.
